Mrs. Jo Hazel Wood age 94 of East Ellijay died Saturday September 15, 2012.

Mrs. Wood was born on April 19, 1918 in Ellijay, GA, to the late Clyde and Emma Chadwick Coffey. She retired from the textile industry and was a member of the River Hill Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by brothers Harvey Coffey, Herman Coffey, Howard Coffey and Aldon Coffey and sisters Opal Key and Otis Bowen, sons Dennis Wood and Bradley Jones, grandson Jody Jones daughter-in-law Cora Elizabeth Jones, sister-in-law Flossie Coffey and husbands Rannell Jones and George Wood.

Survivors include: Brother: Robert F. (Bill) Coffey, Ellijay Sons & daughters-in-law: Mack & Linda Wood, East Ellijay, George & Carol Wood, Chattanooga, TN, Richard & Angie Wood, East Ellijay, Ermel & Ann Jones, Anderson, CA, Donald & Sindney Wood, Cartersville, GA Gene Jones, Ellijay, Roy Wood, Milamar Beach, FL; Daughters: Pauline Ledford, Cartersville, Christine Shumate, Dallas, TX; Sister-in-law: Grace Coffey, Toccoa, GA; Daughter-in-law: Sylvia Wood, Cartersville, GA; Eighteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren & 31 great-great grandchildren Several nieces & nephews Special friends: Frank & Sue Elliot, Bob & Dana Wright, Walt & Hilda Willis, Catherine Cantrell & Kathryn Davis

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 18, 2012 at 2pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Cantrell, Rev. Jess Posey & Rev. Roger Burgess officiating.

Interment will follow in the Scrougetown Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday September 17th from 2pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Scrougetown Cemetery Fund In memory of Mrs. Wood

The family request no food be brought to the funeral home

Bernhardt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
